Tomodomo Privacy Policy
Last updated 13 September 2026This policy explains what data Tomodomo (“the App”) collects, why, and where it goes. It's written in plain language on purpose — Tomodomo doesn't have a backend, a user account system, or an analytics SDK, so there isn't much to explain.
The short version
Everything you put into Tomodomo — your tabs, bills, items, friends, photos, receipts, budgets — is stored only on your device, in the App's local database. Nothing you enter is sent to Tomodomo's developer, because Tomodomo's developer doesn't operate a server that could receive it. Three narrow exceptions send a small, specific piece of data to a third-party service to make a feature work; each is described below.
What's stored, and where
| Data | Where it lives | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Tabs, bills, items, splits, settlements, budgets | Local database on your device (SwiftData) | No |
| Friends/members you add | Local database on your device | No |
| Photos you attach (venue photos, receipts, trip photos) | Local database on your device | No |
| Face ID / Touch ID enrollment check | Handled entirely by iOS (LocalAuthentication) | NoTomodomo never sees your biometric data itself, only a yes/no result from iOS |
| App preferences (currency, appearance, accent colour, etc.) | Local device storage (UserDefaults) | No |
If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it. Tomodomo has no server-side copy to also delete, because none exists.
The three things that do leave your device
Venue name lookups (Brandfetch)
When you create a bill with a venue name, the App sends that name (nothing else — no amounts, no people) to Brandfetch's brand-search API to try to find a matching logo. This happens once per bill, and only the venue name is sent. See Brandfetch's own privacy policy for how they handle it.
Currency exchange rates
To show combined totals for trips that mix currencies, the App fetches published daily exchange rates from Norges Bank (Norway's central bank), a public, no-authentication data feed. No data about you or your bills is sent — the App only requests the day's rates for the currencies your trip uses.
In-app purchases (Apple)
Tomodomo Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Tomodomo never sees your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID — Apple handles the transaction and tells the App only whether you're currently entitled to Pro. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles that.
Neither of the first two calls includes any identifier tied to you personally (no device ID, no account ID, no advertising identifier) — they're simple, anonymous lookups.
What Tomodomo does not do
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers collected.
- No account system — there's no username/password/email tied to using the App.
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone, because Tomodomo's developer never receives it in the first place.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
Your rights
Because your data lives on your device under your control, most data-protection rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are already satisfied by the fact that you can view, edit, or delete anything in the App yourself, or delete the App entirely to remove everything at once.
If you're in the EU/EEA/UK and have a question this policy doesn't answer, or a request you'd like handled directly, contact apps@jcblix.no.
Children's privacy
Tomodomo is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country) and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If what Tomodomo collects or sends changes — a new feature that talks to a new third-party service, for instance — this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
